Traditional brunch Mimosas by the pool to start the day’s planning. Midweek stylish street selfies as high sunlit clouds drift across a clear blue sky. Hashtag Squad Goal weekend travels to festive, fun-filled networking events. What you don’t see is the constant hustle and grind that goes on behind the scenes. There are meetings, ongoing planning sessions, moments of failure, and a persistent drive to try, try, try again.
Success comes by way of consistency. You deserve a career that is rewarding financially and personally, so let’s take a look at 7 characteristics of a successful entrepreneur.
#1: ENTREPRENEURS ARE PASSIONATE
If you do not have passion for what you are doing, you will not succeed. There are plenty of early mornings, late nights, successful milestones, money going out, and times when no money is coming in. Your passion will drive you to keep producing and striving to overcome the obstacles. Have a mindset that there is no backup plan. This plan “A” is the only plan!
#2: ENTREPRENEURS ARE COMFORTABLE WITH TAKING RISKS
Being a boss also means you’re the one making the tough decisions. Entrepreneurship involves uncertainty. Your moments of truth are made in the decision making moments, or the repercussions.

Trusting your instincts is a daily must because you are the one making all the decisions. You don’t know what you don’t know. It takes a lot of research and networking to gain knowledge, but experience to gain wisdom. Nothing in life comes ready–it’s a process, so don’t expect the journey to be comfortable.
#4: ENTREPRENEURS ARE SELF-STARTERS
Don’t get self-starting intertwined with people who get up early. A self-starter works his or her tail off day and night on essential things. They don’t wait around for instructions or a pat on the back. Entrepreneurs are people who tackle projects as they come up and FINISH them. When you haven’t eliminated your distractions and created a schedule, it can be a habit to jump around from project to project without fully completing the last. Start one thing and complete it before moving on.
#5: ENTREPRENEURS ARE PROACTIVE
This word as an adjective means serving to prepare for, intervene in, or control an expected occurrence or situation. Proactive people act in advance to deal with an expected change or difficulty; Preparing in advance will take the weight of stress off your shoulders and allow you to think clearly. You are less inclined to make mistakes and come with your best foot forward every time.

Having insight on how to take advantage of new opportunities will put you ahead of the game. Are you always thinking of new ideas? Can you imagine new ways to solve problems when they arise? Creative thinking is natural in the genetic makeup of an entrepreneur.
